It looks like PWHL Vancouver is continuing to add to its lineup.

The Athletic’s Hailey Salvian reported Wednesday afternoon that forward Sarah Nurse would be signing with Canada’s newest PWHL franchise.

The report comes on a busy day for PWHL Vancouver, as The Hockey News’ Ian Kennedy reported that Vancouver signed the first two players to its roster, adding defenders Claire Thompson and Sophie Jaques. The team would confirm both signings on social media later that day.

Both players were available to Vancouver during their exclusive signing period, during which they and Seattle have the first crack at signing players. Jaques and Thompson have one more year on their current contracts.

The 30-year-old Nurse had just completed her second season with the Toronto Sceptres, scoring six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 21 games. Through two seasons in Toronto, the forward scored 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in 45 regular-season games. In nine playoff games, Nurse recorded two assists.

Internationally, Nurse has represented Canada twice at the Olympics, winning silver at Pyeongchang 2018 and gold at Beijing 2022.

Nurse played her college hockey at the University of Wisconsin, with her best season coming in 2016-17, scoring 25 goals and 28 assists for 53 points in 39 games.
