
After a solid 2014-15 season, the Jets were expecting Lowry to take a step forward, but instead he took a step in the other direction. Lowry had just 17 points (7G / 10A) in 74 games with Winnipeg and four assists in four games with Manitoba (AHL). Lowry will try and bounce-back with the Jets this year.
Lowry, who missed Friday’s game in Minnesota was placed on IR on Sunday to create a roster spot to call up J.C. Lipon from Manitoba (AHL). Lowry will miss at least the next two games.
Lowry was expected to blossom into a top-6 forward this season, but has struggled to just eight points (1G / 7A) in 31 games this season. He heads to Manitoba and the Jets are expected to recall a forward in the next 24 hours.
With Lowry taking a seat, Patrice Cormier will enter the lineup vs. the Avalanche. Consider Lowry day-to-day.
Lowry was suspended for an ugly hit from behind on Sabres’ forward Patrick Kaleta. Lowry will miss tonight’s game vs. the Bruins and is eligible to return on Wednesday vs. Edmonton. Expect TJ Galiardi to dress tonight.
